Emergency Gas Shutdown

Follow the steps below to insure that your gas system has been properly shut off.  There are several different places where you can insure your system is completely shut down.

Once your system has been deactivated, please call Chapman Propane immediately so that we can check your system for leaks and make a reccomendation on further action.
On a bulk tank outside your home, you will likely see a handle that resembles the one above.  To close this valve, you must turn clockwise, just as you would with a water faucet on your garden hose.  This will shut off fuel directly at the tank.
On a cylinder you will see a handle that closely resembles the one above.  Again, to turn off the flow of gas, turn the handle clockwise.  Once the gas has been turned off, disconnect the appliance until the source of the leak can be determined.
